Nestled amongst the bustle of Legerova Street, – a long stretch of road that connects the outskirts of Prague city with the old town and boasts a series of hotels, bars and eateries, lies the most delectable vegetarian culinary experience. Of my life. This little gem is called Etnosvet and it’s an absolute ‘must’ experience for anybody who loves to set their tastebuds alight!
For 3.5 hours, my boyfriend and I were spoilt with beautiful presentations of food that could only be described as edible art. Colourful, fresh and interesting, with intricate levels of detail; the course of the evening was a bombshell of deliciousness, inspired by a series of stunning flavours from all over the world.
The Etnosvet menu is a comprehensive offering of vegan and vegetarian plates, each thoughtfully curated. From Asian fusion and pub gastronomy to the many traditional tastes of Europe and beyond. Particularly in a country whereby hearty meat dishes are of predominant focus, who would have thought that a vegan steak tartare would ignite all senses, and that a humble mushroom soup could be so smooth, yet airy and velvety, that it was somewhat reminiscent of a liquid foam.
With the 7 course tasting menu, a warm and relaxed atmosphere, with the most friendly of staff, we were transported to food heaven. It was a delicious evening to celebrate a special birthday, and one of which I’d highly recommend to any veggie/vegan (or not!) when visiting this fairy-tale city.
